Wisborough Green Lodge Number 8049 was Consecrated on 20th October, 1965 under the aegis of the United Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of England.

The Ceremony of Consecration was conducted by the Provincial Grand Master of Sussex assisted by a team of Consecrating Officers. Since that time the Lodge has met continuously in the Village Hall, Wisborough Green, except for three months in 1975 when there was extensive building work done to the Village Hall. This work was undertaken by Balchin the builders, of whom Albert Price was the first Initiate into the Lodge. A Founding Member of the Lodge was the Rev. John E.Penney, who was Vicar of Wisborough Green for many years.

Currently there are 34 Members who meet 6 times per year to undertake the work of the Lodge, dine, and collect funds which are distributed to Charities both nationwide through The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution and locally such as St. Catherine's Hospice. The Lodge Banner was dedicated in 1977, and was the work of Wisborough Green local Artist, Mr. Pat Gierth. A stylised copy of this adorns the Lodge paperwork.
During the early part of 2002 the Lodge created its own web-site on the Internet. Visitors can visit the web-site at http://www.wisborough-green-lodge.co.uk where they can gain more information about Freemasonry generally and the Lodge in particular. The content has approval for publication from the United Grand Lodge of England.
